POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Director for Cannevents assists the Chief Operations Officer in the administration and management of the employee life cycle in the company, including but not limited to Recruiting, Onboarding, Training, Benefits Administration, Risk Management, Retention and Separation.

KEY INTERACTIONS:
This position interacts with all department heads, members of field operations team, and corporate leadership team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  • Assist management in the organization of job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
  • Coach management on the interview and hiring process established by the company.
  • Oversee the proper onboarding of new employees in payroll system including proper completion of I-9 form and submission to the E-verify data base.
  • Submits background checks to candidates and discusses results with management.
  • Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
  • Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims with brokers and carriers. Follow up on claims with management and employees.
  • Makes recommendations and implements modifications and improvements on current risk management policies and protocols.
  • Manages the safety program of the company including, safety boards and monthly safety communications.
  • Documents telephone conversations, witness statements, medical reports, and accident investigation results when needed.
  • Directs employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit questions to the appropriate point of contact.
  • Answers and directs departmental phone calls.
  • Proofreads and types documents and correspondence produced by department.
  • Assist with preparation of human resource reports such as new hire, turnover and other reports.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of employment related laws and guidelines.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Thorough understanding of training processes.
  • Ability to moderate large groups.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Strong interviewing and investigation skills.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least 3-5 years of human resources management.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

SALARY: $65,000 – $75,000 per year
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday
